   Holy $&*! this disc is insane.

   I’ve been hunting a FAF Firebird for a while because I needed a disc more overstable than the collection of Firebirds I have, and this is almost too much lol. But it’s just such a crazy disc that I love it.

   I’d probably give this 9-3-1-4 flight ratings. You can almost throw this on a forehand roller line and have it fight out. I don’t have big forehand distance but can get my Firebirds in the 300-320′ range, but I have maybe 220′ of distance with this. It just wants to get on edge and get to the ground immediately. Even as a backhand-dominant player, when I release this it basically starts fading immediately. The only way you’re getting any sort of distance is through aggressive flex lines.

   It just makes me think of this scene from the Boondock Saints: “Where you goin’? NOWHERE!”

   Except left or right, of course.

   But there’s so much crazy stuff you can do with a disc like that. I can get this to flare skip more than any other disc I own. This is particularly useful for standstill situations where you just need to flare skip around something–almost in a `J` shape. Pinched off in the woods and need some crazy forehand flex shot? You can throw this up in the air on a sharp anhyzer line and it will pan out to flat, then fade hard and flare skip at the end. It’s also an insanely good forehand roller disc and will also be great for overhand shots. Spike hyzers are also ez-mode–you don’t need to throw grenades, just throw this up in the air on hyzer and it will land perpendicular to the ground. Basically, until this disc beats in, which will probably take years, it is the ultimate overstable utility fairway.

   The plastic is beautiful. The photos provided don’t do it justice. It is super pearly, like the old pearly Firebirds from ~2013 or what we now see in the Luster blend (and beefy Halo rims). I got a yellow one that is absolutely board flat. It’s so flat that it actually took me a while to get used to throwing it because the hand-feel is so different from other Firebirds that it was slipping out on release.

   Anyway, I’m super grateful OTB released this disc. This is *not* a disc for everyone. If someone told you to try a Firebird and you’re thinking about getting this because you like the stamp, it will probably make you cry. This disc will make people with pretty good power feel like noodle arms. But if you’ve been after this profile of Firebird, and you know the lore, this is about as good as it gets.

   This is exactly what you want in a firebird. It is absolutely board flat, very stiff, but still has great grip in the hand. Immediately came back to order a second so I can have a backup. Why can’t all Firebirds be this way?
