Protege Sumo – The Sumo fills a nice slot in the Legacy lineup with an overstable flight that is slower than the Recluse. This is a putter/approach disc that can handle power both forehand and backhand with a solid fade at the end of the flight. The Protege plastic is tacky and beats in quickly. Legacy says this about the mold: “We are very excited to introduce a disc that has long been requested in our lineup, a super overstable, true approach disc. This is the Sumo! 4 | 2 | 0 | 4”
Speed 4 | Glide 2 | Turn 0 | Fade 4 |
This is a great distance control approach disc! It’s not necessarily beefy, but it doesn’t want to go very far when brand new. Mine is fairly beat up now, so I can get it to pop up to flat for me on longer shots around 260-280 feet with a nice fade back. Brand new, it was difficult to get 220 feet out of it. It doesn’t feel like a zone but it’s the closest thing to it in the legacy lineup currently.
