Weight is lighter but doesn’t bend like metal retrievers. I like the shorter 10 foot version because it collapses down smaller and 10 feet is good enough to reach most discs. The suction cups are better in most situations except when pulling a disc out of tight brambles. Between the stiffer pole and suctions cups, water discs are so easy to grab. Just watch your fingers when collapsing because the carbon fiber rods like to pinch.

First impressions – Don’t like the clip that prevents it from extending. Something more elegant like bungie cord looped around a hook would be better IMO.
Really great at retrieving discs as it barely bends even with the weight of a disc. Suction cups are far superior to hooks in 90% of situations.
Like the 10′ version for the shorter compacted length as it fits in the bag better and I rarely fully extended my old 16′ metal retriever.
Used for the first time today and this thing is great! The carbon fiber is stiff and light weight, little to no flex when fully extended. I do question the durability as a small shaving of carbon came off during the use. My only regret is not getting the 16 foot version.
Since this is a shorter retriever, you won’t be getting your disc high out of a tree. This is however great for everything else. The suction cup works pretty well. You may need to get the cups slightly wet to have it work on base plastics like dx or electron.
Easy to keep clean thanks to the screw off bottom allowing access to the individual sections.
The pole is a nice proof of concept (very light and compact!), but it definitely could use some refinement, specifically the retainer clip & the grommet that holds the pole sections from extending. Keep innovating! The disc golf community needs more entrepreneurs like MaxDisctance. It is much appreciated and very cool to have started the products from the need they identified!
