K3 Järn – The first overstable approach disc in the Kastaplast lineup, the mold feels amazing and is kind of a mix between a putter and a midrange. It has a nice overstable feel that is very comfortable on forehand and backhand grips. A few of us in the shop have thrown the Järn and it has a good combination of glide and overstability. It is a disc that can be thrown hard and it will not flip but it will push forward and hyzer reliably every time. Grab a K3 Jarn today!

Kastaplast says this about the mold: “The Järn (Swedish for ‘Iron’), is the first overstable approach disc by Kastaplast. This disc has a predictable fade, giving you confidence into headwinds. It has a flat top and is perfect for control flex approach shots. It’s a must have disc for players of all levels.”

  1. The K3 Jarn has become a staple in my bag. They are BEEF and very low glide. If you’ve thrown a premium Jarn, the K3 ones are completely different. Much more overstable and less glide. They also don’t lose much stability as they beat in. They kind of just get lumpy and a little warped and have even less glide. On a flat release, I think I could probably throw a Berg further than my beat-in K3 Jarn. Unlike a Berg though, this Jarn will never turn over on a forehand, even at near max power.

  2. great overstable disc. breaks in great

  3. Beefy approach disc. Great for spike hyzers and flick shots. More OS and flat/puddle compared to k1 jarn. Almost flies like what i assume a zone os would. Staying in the bag forever

  4. The flat to puddle top feel makes this good for backhand but great for forehand, still really over stable, can throw flex shots with it, the plastic is nice and grippy

  5. So grippy! Like somebody made a disk out of a pencil eraser! Predictable Järn stability but with more grip in cold and wet weather compared to the K1 version. Also, saying “Järn” because makes you feel like a Viking or something.

  6. Nice mold, cool stamp. Plastic is a little too soft / tacky for me personally though for forehands. Will look for / wait for K3 Hard.
