Swirly S-Blend Slab – Do you want some beef? The Infinite Slab is a super overstable high speed driver that will fight every headwind you can find. It is one of the best discs to handle power and give you a hyzer every single time. More overstable than the Emperor, it will handle every ounce of power and torque you can conceivably put on it. The Infinite Discs Slab is great for skip shots and any hyzer shot you can think of. If you’re from somewhere the wind really gets pumping, then you need a Slab in your life to save you on those crazy windy days.
Infinite Discs says this about the mold: “The overstable utility driver, the SLAB is now available in Swirly S-Blend. The flight numbers for the Slab are 11 / 3 / 0 / 4 and it is a favorite of some high-level pro players like Big Jerm, Dallin Blanchard, etc. who throw hard and need a hefty end fade. Plus, it works as an excellent secret weapon in strong headwinds.”
Speed 11 | Glide 3 | Turn 0 | Fade 4 |
I’m not normally one to complain about flight numbers. I don’t care that a Rhyno isn’t nearly as overstable as its 3 fade would suggest, or that a new Tesla is much more overstable than a -1 turn rating. I bag both and think they’re awesome discs. This Slab is probably the most disappointed/surprised I’ve ever been by flight numbers though.
Simply put, this disc, which should be an overstable beefcake by the flight numbers, just isn’t that overstable. I currently bag a Calvin Draco and was hoping that this Slab would be like a faster Draco with a bigger skip. Unfortunately, this disc is a bit less stable than my Teslas, which I use as my workhorse forehand drivers. I can only get this disc to fly flat-to-fade on an uphill drive. On a level drive, this disc will get significant turn, and on a downhill drive, it might flip over and never come back. I don’t even have crazy forehand power (consistently ~315) or an anhyzer release that requires a lot of overstability. This disc just isn’t overstable.
On the beef scale, this run of Slab is a turkey burger. Not a bad disc, but just not what I was looking for. My flight numbers would be 11|4|-1|2.
