First Run Star Jay
First Run Star Jay – The Jay is a new midrange from Innova that has a similar beadless feel as the Mako3 but it is a tad more overstable. According to Dave Dunipace it is the most point and shoot midrange that Innova has. This will be a disc that you can throw all over the course on a wide variety of lines and it will slot in nicely next to the Mako3. The Star plastic has that same amazing feel in the hand that it is known for and it feels great in the new Jay mold. Make sure you grab an Innova First Run Star Jay today!
Innova says this about the mold: “A micro-beaded Mid-Range with a true-to-release flight, the Innova Jay will be a staple in bags everywhere. This all-purpose disc can handle power or be finessed. It has better torque-resistance than most Mid-Ranges, but still finishes straight. It is one of our most point-and-shoot discs on the market. The Jay’s low-profile design fits comfortably in your hand for a clean release every throw. Get yours in Champion and Star plastics today.”

Underrated disc
Extremely straight stable midrange. Micro bead is barely noticeable in the grip.
It was a gift
To me these fly just like the normal run of Jay. They are fairly point & shoot, meaning it will hold nearly any line you put it on as long as you don’t overpower it. Think of the Innova Coyote (another of my old favorites) made into a fairway driver. I personally prefer the Hawkeye to the Jay at the moment, but will keep working with the Jay in the field so I can see how the flight develops as it breaks in
