Ruru – RPM Discs is an up and coming company in the disc golf world. Hailing from New Zealand, these discs have a great look to them with really cool artwork feautring different birds native to New Zealand. The Ruru is one of their putters and is available in a few different plastics. It has a very blunt nose and a small bead on it making for a consistent stable flight with a touch of fade at the end of the flight. Named after an owl native to New Zealand, the Ruru features some really sweet artwork of the owl. This plastic looks amazing and we think you find one that you love with their 4 different plastic types available for the Ruru. Support an up and coming international brand and see how this plastic flies.
RPM says this about the mold: “The Ruru or (Morepork) is RPM’s dedicated Putter and named after a NZ native owl. The flight is slow and consistent, stable with a very small late fade. The Ruru has a small bead and a deep Rim and comes in 4 different plastic types and with many effects. It is PDGA approved to 174.3g”

Love the stamp, almost too pretty to throw.
Plastic is a little slick so I’m still getting used to that. Feels great in my hand, though.
I found my throwing putter. RPM plastic feels SO GOOD in the hand and I love it specifically for throwing the Ruru off the tee. I use Atomic plastic for mine. I can put a full rip on it and it’s not going to turn over. It will flip up and ride straight before fading at the end. I’m also starting to explore jump putting with it and getting some nice results. Love the Ruru.
Loving everything out of RPM. The RuRu has an amazing feel. It’s like a hardish exo with a soft center, and it’s just so natural to grip. Love the coarse matte finish too. Really excited to get out and play with it.
The Ruru was the second putter to be designed and produced by RPM Discs. This putter is known widely in the niche of RPM fans as a good throwing putter and putting putter alike. As a putting putter, the Ruru is perfect in the Magma and Strata baseline blends. It is a deep dish beaded putter that is great for players with larger hands. My hands are far from large hands so for putting I prefer the Tui from RPM over the Ruru but I bag both as throwing putters. Both the Cosmic and Atomic Ruru are great throwing putters that are pretty much point and shoot. If you really torque on them they will definitely turn over but if you throw the Ruru nice and soft you can get a VERY straight flight out of this one which is a great compliment to the more understable Tui. My favorite plastic for the Ruru however, is the Cosmic Glow Ruru. In my experience the Glow Ruru is the most overstable of all plastics. Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t by any means an overstable throwing putter but if you are looking for a more turn resistant Ruru, this is the plastic for you. I use the Ruru when I am 150′ – 200′ from the basket and I need a good straight low powered shot with a soft finish. I can also use the Ruru at this same distance with some hyzer to get a good controllable fade without worrying about it hitting and skipping like a Zone or Harp type OS putter may get. As always with RPM, the feel of the plastics are all amazing and the stamp is incredible. This pretty little Owl (Morepork) is sure to make you smile on the course!

Best throwing putter
Cosmic plastic is better than I even expected
Will turn over with a good snap, but great if you control the power your putting on it. Good approach disc
Bought for a friend he loves it!
Super straight flying putter in that amazing RPM plastic. Feels similar to a Latitude 64 Dagger. Great for approaches and upshots!
