Plasma Photon – The MVP Photon is one of the workhorse drivers in the MVP lineup. It is fast and pretty overstable without being a meathook. Throwers with power will get the disc to slide to the right for a bit while still getting a reliable fade back to hyzer. All players will see the Photon end on hyzer and should get plenty of forward distance. Thrown by players such as Jeff Faes and Matt Dollar, the Photon is a bomber that can handle power. It has been a go to distance driver and great for cycling to get several different flights. Available in a few different plastics you can find the flight and feel you are looking for. Grab a Plasma Photon today!
MVP says this about the disc: “The Photon is best described as a longer Tesla, with power throwers able to achieve some flight extending turn, and all throwers getting a reliable fade. The Photon is naturally headwind resistant but average power throwers can use a headwind to emulate those extended flights of high power throwers.”

Flight Numbers: Speed: 11, Glide: 5, Turn: -1, Fade: 2.5
Speed 11 | Glide 5 | Turn -1 | Fade 2.5 |
Some of these newer embossed weight runs of the Plasma Photon have a slight dome to them which is very nice to get some extra glide and distance. The flatter runs are more utility discs for me since they are beefier and just fade quickly. Both serves a purpose. For reference, my average distance is 370-380.
As Ordered
More overstable than the flight numbers. Flies like the most overstable Destroyer.
Excellent headwind disc, I’m LHBH good crosswind left to right. Does ok downwind. Can use in tight woods with a right dogleg performing some long skips.
Solid headwind disc at 175g. I’ve thrown up to 35 mph wind. Going to pick up a few lighter weights to experiment downwind and crosswind.
OTB is the best
Very beefy at first, few hundred throws to barely see any turn, fights out of an anhyzer unless there’s a stiff headwind.
My go-to driver! Has just enough fight against the wind so I feel like it never has the chance to really turn over and flop.
Pretty stable for even stronger arms. Can handle torque and wind reliably with a strong fade. Bombers this is probably the stable disc you’re looking for, definitely not a beginner disc though unless you go down in weight quite a bit.
This disc is sick, the lighter weight lets you push it quite a bit further before the fade kicks in.
