Obsidian Discs Shard – Obsidian Discs is a Finnish company made in 2014 that makes amazing plastic and fantastic molds. The Shard is a great fairway driver that is perfect for players of all skill levels. It has a great feel in the hand and is extremely glidey and has a neutral flight. Straight flights are easily achieved with the Shard, at low speeds it will fly straight before a generous fade, at higher speeds it will flip up to flat and even turn more before coming out at the end of the flight. Obsidian Discs says this about the mold: “The Shard is an easy to throw and excellently gliding fairway driver. With beginners the Shard’s flight trajectory is straight and ends with a moderate fade. I used to throw a Volt and now in switched to this. Flys more like 7,5,-1,2 dives hard at the end for a very good predicable pattern. Plastic is some of the best I’ve felt.
Love this plastic. H9 is pretty similar to Kasta K1. Just a little less tacky but still amazing grip. The Shard has a very wide rim for a 7 speed. Wider than my Essence and the same as my Falk. Similar distance to both. It bombs on a good hyzer flip. It’s flippier than -1.5 turn in my opinion tho. It’s a great disc but I’d say the turn is more like a -2.5 or -3.
