Apex Lobster

(16 customer reviews)

Apex Lobster – Mint has been killing it with new molds, filling the slots in their lineup with regularity. Their newest release is a midrange that has a comfortable, beadless feel and has a ton of glide. It is a disc that is easy to get smooth distance that nestles nicely once it touches the ground. This is a great mold to slot next to your Mustang as a nice understable compliment. Grab a Mint Discs Apex Lobster today.

Mint says this about the mold: “The Lobster is our first understable mid and one of the smoothest throwers on the market. Beginners can spin it flat for tons of glide, and higher powered players will want to hyzer flip it for long controlled turnovers.”

  1. A more controllable Origin in a better feeling plastic. Of all the understable mids I’ve tried (origin, svea, uplink, paradox, sol, meteor), the lobster is the one that I can trust the most. It’s great for a hyzer flip to straight with a slight pan to the right. But it can also do big sweeping turns if thrown flat, anhyzer or with power. I’ve used it when scrambling without a lot of room for a big swing both forehand and backhand. Just an all around solid disc. Right now it is the understable end of my mids, Bobcat, Pathfinder, Mindbender, Lobster.

  2. This disc is extremely similar to an MVP Uplink in feel and flight. It basically comes down to whether you like an overmold rim or not. The feel of this plastic is excellent though. It’s not quite as understable as the numbers would suggest. For my slower backhand (275 consistently, 300 on a good throw, with a 9 speed), this disc goes pretty straight, with only a little drift.

  3. This (wait for it) really feels good in the hand. The plastic is pretty grippy for opaque premium.

  4. love the disc. picking it and getting it through OTB was super easy

  5. I am as amateur as they come and this disc is buttery smooth for me, might even buy a back up

  6. I didn’t know what to expect from this disc, but as a fan of understable mids I figured I’d give it a try. Plus I’ve never had a Mint disc. It’s a bit of a smaller diameter with a smooth rim. It’s easy to throw, and gives surprising distance. This took the -3 mid slot in my bag beating up the Uplink, Sol, Meteor and my old favorite the Piwakawaka.

  7. Got two identical ones that don’t fly identically… but I do love the disc. Not as understable as I was expecting, but great feel in the hand.

  8. Competing with my Tursas

  9. Perfect slightly understable compliment to the mustang. More comfortable in the hand than a hex and incredibly straight in a tailwind

  10. More stable then the numbers let on. Fun disc to throw won’t make the bag just because I feel more confident in my mako3
