    Exactly what I ordered!

When you get yourself one you’ll just know

Ordered KCs from somewhere else to putt with. Both were a bit too domey, they’ve been relegated to driving-putters. I love that OTB has a scale for this. I know exactly what I’m getting.

  5. Alex Jenny (verified owner)

Solid disc. Trying out all the Aviars and the KC is a quality, stable option.

Always love OTB, always love a good ol’ classic KC Aviar. Obviously this is a classic, consistent putter. It doesn’t really show much of its overstability until you’re putting outside C1 or you putt really softly/floaty. It’s just really, really straight and stable for putting. Not overly glidey, but not a brick either. There’s a reason this is basically the “standard” putter from which many, many others were designed…

They’re great to throw or approach with too. A little soft nose-up bid and they’re plenty overstable/reliable to fade out next to the basket. As that bead wears down (I have an old one where the bead is completely gone), it’s a killer gentle turnover thrower off the tee — and it still has more stability than a beadless DX Aviar, due to the slightly different nose shape and weight distribution near the rim. (No, KCs aren’t just DX beadless Aviars with an added bead; they’re *slightly* different molds in the shoulder and nose shapes.) However, when new, KCs are monstrously straight/stable off the tee. If I ever turn-n-burn one over, I know it’s my bad form — so keep that in mind. It’s not the disc… They’ll hold a hyzer 300’ if you do it right, no problem.

The stiffness and dome ratings are particularly helpful for me with online Aviar hunting. Kinda obvious, but more dome really adds to how deep the disc feels. Even a “2” rating vs. a “1” is noticeably deeper, so people with smaller hands should keep an eye on the dome rating. For stiffness, it’s a bit more of a crapshoot, since they’re almost always “7”s. Different runs are almost always equally stiff, but some runs are more durable, some chip a lot easier. So it takes a bit off luck finding that perfect one for you. But even if yours beats and nicks up a little faster, cool, you have your soon-to-be turnover one. Adding another KC to the stack is never a bad call!

Grabbed two exact KC Pro Aviars to replace some beat-up ones in my bag for C1/C2 putts. The disc feels great in your hand and the rim lends itself well to a flick/spin putt. Only con is that it does not perform well in windy situations, so get yourself a pig too!

    love it

Great disc very smooth feel initially but as you break it in it gets good and grippy.
