Recycled Explorer

(3 customer reviews)

Recycled Explorer – Brand new to Latitude 64’s lineup in early 2018, the Explorer is sure to make the bag for many golfers. Already well loved by the masses, the mold seems to be a perfect fairway driver addition to your bag. A great feeling rim, very comfortable in the hand, the disc has a ton of glide and holds it’s line for days! When thrown hard and flat it will fly relatively straight with a touch of turn and a little but of fade, great for hyzers, straight shots, and annys. Due to its versatility this thing is a workhorse. It handles wind well without being too overstable. Plus with the glide it has it will stay in the air pushing down the fairway forever. Voted Disc of the Year in 2018 these things have been a hit since their inception! Latitude 64 keeps putting out great discs and the Explorer is no exception.

Latitude 64 says this about the mold and plastic: “Why was the Explorer voted the 2018 Disc of the Year? Straight flight path and controlled glide, that’s what the Explorer brings. Designed to be the workhorse for all kinds of accurate fairway drives. This stable and versatile fairway driver is smooth out of the hand and has a clean stable flight. This is a mix of reprocessed material from Opto and Gold Line discs that have come up short during quality control. Recycled discs are usually slightly less stable than Opto and Gold discs, and they also break in a bit faster.”

  1. Better teebird

  2. I’m still figuring this disc out so keep that in mind with my 4-star rating. This recycled plastic doesn’t feel cheap in the slightest. It’s high quality and feels great in my hand. There was a tiny edge of flashing that I shaved off the rim and now it’s smooth as butter. I wanted a Teebird clone for the reliable fade on shorter dogleg drives and many reviews pointed to the Explorer over the Teebird. So far this disc is doing mostly that for me. Sometimes it slightly flips so I’m wondering if the recycled plastic is just a touch less stable than the more premium plastics or perhaps I’m accidentally releasing on a slight anhyzer. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase and it’s filled a hole in my bag.

  3. Love this disc. The recycled plastic feels great and this flies dead straight with a little fade at the end.
