Destroyer – Swirly Star – Calvin Heimburg National Tour Series Champion

Heimburg Destroyer - Green swirl with Rainbow foil stamp

Heimburg Destroyer – A sweet new version of the Star Destroyer, in the Swirly plastic, for Calvin Heimburg’s success in the National Tour this year!

This run has been bottom stamped only, leaving the swirly top free!

Heimburg Swirled Star Destroyer – Another installation in the storied Destroyer history. Released in 2007, the Destroyer rose to the top of the charts for disc golf Distance Drivers. This mold has now set the standard for what every manufacturer’s main fast driver should be. Initially with just a stock stamp, Avery Jenkins then adopted the mold as his signature disc after his 2009 World Championship. Paul McBeth then took it over in 2016 after his 4th straight world title in 2015. Previous Swirled Destroyer runs include tour series discs for Steve Brinster and Philo Brathwaite. Now as his 2019 Tour Series disc Calvin Heimburg has the Swirled Star Destroyer, and they are gorgeous! The star plastic in this run is a bit shiny and between somewhat gummy and neutral in stiffness, and they have neutral dome in most cases. These Heimburg Swirled Destroyers have good contrast and are sure to be a hit with fans of the Destroyer and there are plenty. Support Calvins tour and get one of the best discs Innova will release all year. Grab one before they are gone.

The Star Destroyer is by far the most popular Distance Driver among Innova throwing pros. It is also the most popular selling Distance Driver on the market across all brands. It has the ability to handle any amount of torque that one can put on it. Forehand and backhand these are great discs and feel like they belong in your hand. There have been many runs of the Destroyer, that all fly a bit different, but a Destroyer is always worth a shot to test out and see how it does for you!

Destroyer – Ricky Wysocki 2x – Robot Stamp

Innova Ricky Wysocki Robot Destroyer in blue Star plastic with a red stamp.

Wysocki Robot Destroyer – Ricky Wysocki took over the Destroyer last year when he had his Raptor stamp. This year he has the stock stamp and the new Wysocki Robot Destroyer and people are excited about the two variations. Ricky getting two different Destroyers is super sick, and people are really excited. These Destroyers have a higher PLH and feel more like 4x McBeth Destroyers than the Raptor Destroyers from last year. They should be closer to a more overstable traditional Destroyer than the flipper Destroyers we have seen recently. The Star plastic has a great feel and there is a decent variance in dome and stiffness on these. The Wysocki Robot Destroyer is a great compliment to last years Raptor Destroyers.

Here is what Innova has to say about the mold: “The Destroyer is a very fast stable long distance driver. This disc is much like a faster Wraith, but with a little more high and low speed stability. Great disc for sidearm throwers and those with lots of power. Can handle headwinds and throws with off axis torque. Not suggested for beginning players.”

2x Wysocki Destroyer – Classic Signature Stamp

The 2x Wysocki Destroyer in blue star plastic with red stamp.

2x Wysocki Destroyer – Ricky Wysocki took over the Destroyer last year when he had his Raptor stamp. This year he is taking over the Classic Stock Stamp and people are excited. Ricky getting his signature on the Destroyer is a huge deal, only two other players have ever been on the stock stamp. These Destroyers have a higher PLH and feel more like 4x McBeth Destroyers than the Raptor Destroyers from last year. They should be closer to a more overstable traditional Destroyer than the flipper Destroyers we have seen recently. Destroyer – Star – Stargate XXL

Stargate XXL Destroyer - Blue with Red/White foil stamp

Stargate XXL Destroyer – a cool run for the 4th of July, these Blue Star Destroyers have a some definite Splatter Star look to them. Innova released/advertised them as standard Star, so we will list them as such. But, we think they’re Splatter Star incognito 😉

From Innova – “Celebrate your independence with this star of the skies. We’ve emblazoned a two-color “Stargate” XXL hotstamp on bright blue Star Destroyers.”

These Stargate XXL Destroyers have a really nice feel to them and a great look with the two foil XXL stamp. The stamp design is pretty intricate and the two foils weave well within one another. There’s a ton of different variations of the Destroyer, so add this one to that list =P. Hard not to make a large quantity of variations when the mold is so popular. The initial run of the Splatter Star Destroyer was seen in the Steve Brinster tour series release in 2017. There have been a couple smaller batches since but nothing quite to that scale until now. If you were a fan of that run, now’s your chance to pick up another a bit less of a price!

Destroyer – Stargate XXL Holiday

Innova Stargate XXL Holiday Destroyer in front of a holiday background.

Holiday Destroyer – The Destroyer is one of the best discs ever made and will always be a go to for Innova players. This holiday season Innova has released a sweet two foil XXL stamp reminiscent of the original Stargate stamp. We have heard this run of Destroyer is overstable!! So if you are looking for a new overstable disc then grab a Stargate XXL Holiday Destroyer. The Destroyer is one of the premier 12 speeds ever made, maybe the most popular disc in the world. Thrown by just about every Innova pro, these are true workhorse drivers and are great for cycling. When thrown hard the Destroyer will get a little bit of turn and a very reliable fade every time.

Innova says this about the disc: “The Stargate XXL Destroyer returns! This release features a retro bot in a 2-color XXL holiday foil stamp. This fresh run of Star Destroyers is only available in white Star plastic with red and green foils.”

We think Destroyer fans will love the Stargate XXL Holiday Destroyer. It is a perfect disc for fans of Innova and disc golf and would make an amazing gift for players of all skill levels. Whether you are throwing this or collecting this it will sure be a hit.
