Firefly – Nexus – Nate Sexton

(17 customer reviews)

Nexus Firefly – a new mold made to Nate Sexton’s specifications! This mold will feel very familiar to fans of the Aviar and Discmania’s P2. It has a slightly Overstable flight for a Putter. Not close to the AviarX3 in stability, but it will find it’s way left eventually with a right hand backhand throw.

This was the first mold made in the new Nexus plastic (the Jessica Weese Aviar was made in the Nexus after the initial release of the Firefly months ago). This plastic has a very grippy feel while staying quite firm as well. We think this feel will please many players!

I’m a big fan of the Firefly. I liken it to a P2/Yeti Aviar frankendisc. Firm but with good tack, slight concave flight plate so it sits low in your hand, good stability for holding the line you put it on and finishing with minimal fade.

Discs were just as described and communication was great. Shipping was mega fast!

  2. Keevan M. (verified owner)

the discs are fantastic. exactly how it looked and was described by OTB. the shipping was a fast process and was much appreciated.

  3. Joey H. (verified owner)

First off the discs were just as OTB described and shipped hekka fast.

The discs themselves are a thing of beauty. They pop out of the hand when putting, and fly straight when thrown. They have just enough fade on the end to compliant the stable flight path of whatever angle you put it on. The nexus plastic is my new favorite. Firm, tacky, and doesn’t lose its grip even in my sweaty Florida hands.

  4. Michael H. (verified owner)

My new go to putter. Kind of an aviar/p2 hybrid. Great disc!

  5. Adam B. (verified owner)

Basically a grippy and stiff P2 very good thrower has become one of my favorite approach discs

  6. Keith A. (verified owner)

This is the most gummy plastic I’ve ever putted with.

  7. Tyler Winston (verified owner)

I’ve been putting with P-line P2’s for a long time. The firefly is perhaps a touch more overstable than a P2 but very similar. The nexus plastic has the firmness of the P-line/pro putter plastic but also much better grip. I’ve been looking for a disc like this for a long time, and it instantly became my new putting putter!

  8. Jeremy (verified owner)

I like it so far. Not as puddle topped as I hoped (being a giant fan of the yetis…), but very nice feeling grippy material. I’m sure it’s gonna stay in the bag!

  9. Anonymous (verified owner)

These are nice putters for putting and for throwing. Having the descriptions of flatness and stiffness of each disc is very useful when shopping online. Shipping was fast and well packed.

  10. Brian E. (verified owner)

Great disc, like an aviar with a great texture and true flight for throwing or putting

  11. Kristopher (verified owner)

    Chain grabber!

  12. Anonymous (verified owner)

This plastic is amazing! Not getting the same glide I get from a D-line P2, but we’ll see what happens as they break in.

  13. Anonymous (verified owner)

Best putter I’ve ever used! OTB great as always

    Second firefly, in the bag

  16. Kyle Lieberman (verified owner)

Really liked the feel of this putter. The nexus plastic is a little like yeti but slightly softer. It almost feels like my yetis but beadless.

  17. Zach Cole (verified owner)

The nexus plastic is the best plastic I have ever felt in a putter. It’s offers superb grip in warm or cold temps, wet or dry. The putter in the hand feels slightly taller than a P2 with a slightly deeper rim. The flight is very similar with maybe a tad more glide and less stability than a P2.

Some snippets from Innova about the mold and release

Our newest putter and Nate Sexton’s Tour Series putter—the Firefly—is now available the Innova Factory Store. The Firefly is made for the touring pro—or any player demanding stable putt and approach disc that’s comfortable in the hand. It features a beadless rim and will debut in the new “Nexus” plastic, a firm plastic that’s grippy and more durable than our DX line. It can handle tee shots. It can even take on the wind.

The Firefly has straight flight with a slightly stable finish. It has enough grip for cold and wet days and enough stability for windy ones!
— Nate Sexton

Firefly flight numbers are 2,3,0,1, positioning it as a slightly more stable version of the Aviar Putt & Approch disc. ”

“Nate Sexton needed a stable to overstable putter & we developed the Firefly. The Firefly is a deep, beadless putter that will provide consistent flight in most all conditions. Nexus plastic provides the stiffness requested by Nate, matched with exceptional grip.”
